Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

This strategy might need a few tries to work.

Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
RNG
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

Works great if Emmigosa is swapped in at Turn 10. If the Infinite Whelpling is still alive it will be forced in instead and you cannot get Surge of Power off before Snozz's heal. IW has to be dead for this to work out in the end.

Nivmizzet wrote on 2020-11-03 06:17:29

This strategy works in Shadowlands pre-patch as of November 3rd, 2020. Be ready for some RNG, but I got it to work on the "first try" twice in a row while testing, but subsequent test tries failed.

Worked on second try. It works, but a lot of rng.

Midei wrote on 2019-02-16 10:21:11

Only strat that worked for me, cred to Istalri on Wowhead:

NOTE: As far as I can tell, there is no replacement for the Nightmare Whelp. This strat requires the stacking healing debuff making Round 11s heal always equal 0.
Nether Faerie Dragon H/P (Life Exchange)
Nightmare Whelpling H/P (Call Darkness, Nightmare)
Chrominius H/H (Bite, Howl, Surge of Power)

R1) Nether Faerie Dragon Pass*
R2) Nether Faerie Dragon Swap to
R3) Nether Faerie Dragon Life Exchange
R4) Nether Faerie Dragon Pass*
R5) Chrominus Bite
R6) Chrominus Howl
R7) Nether Faerie Dragon Swap to*
R8) Nightmare Whelpling Call Darkness
R9) Nightmare Whelpling Nightmare (If Whelp dies, battle will be a loss)
R10) Nightmare Whelpling Pass*
R11) Chrominus Howl
R12) Chrominus Surge of Power

Wendy wrote on 2020-09-02 04:36:14

Which bit of RNG did I fail on? The 90% hit chance on Nightmare...FML

Wendy wrote on 2020-09-02 04:41:28

Worked on about my 10th try. I used an S/S Nether Faerie Dragon cuz it was all I had - just need to keep resetting until Snozz only hits twice instead of three times. Just before Chrominus Surge of Power, he crit me on the 2nd hit and I thought I was done for but luckily he didn't hit a 3rd time and I won with very little health remaining!

I found this strategy on wowhead. Worked first try. All credit goes to istalri (link: https://www.wowhead.com/npc=128014/snozz#comments:id=2543212)

Nether Faerie Dragon H/P (*/2/*)
Nightmare Whelpling H/P (*/1/1)
Chrominius H/H (1/1/2)

1: pass
2: swap back to nether faerie dragon
3: life exchange
4: pass
5: bite
6: howl
7: swapt to nether faerie dragon
8: call darkness
9: nightmare (if the whelp dies the battle will most likely be a loss)
10: pass
11: howl
12: surge of power

Elsa wrote on 2017-09-14 03:14:18

I was having a lot of problems with this. Got this from ograda on wowhead and it worked for me.

*****************************

use Yu'la (1,2,2) , Infinite Hatchling (1,1,1) and emmigosa (1,2,1)

Pass > infinite hatchling goes in
Temporal anomaly
cyclone
Pass > Emmigosa goes in
Wild Magic
Claw
Claw > Yu'la goes in
Breath
Life exchange
breath > Emmigosa goes in
Surge of Power

P.S. a bit of range may be needed with yu'las life exchange, crits and cyclone procs but it worked 3 out of 5 times with me..

Ali wrote on 2017-09-15 15:40:56

ty for this! Worked on the 2nd or 3rd try. Was a great improvement.

Drax13 wrote on 2017-09-18 17:30:36

Excellent, thank you!

LirameiRav wrote on 2017-09-23 22:03:51

I was down to 2 bandages and decided to stick with this strat. One problem is when Hatchling and Emmigosa end up with EXACT SAME health! So Whelping comes in instead of Emmigosa. The best when that last round came up and I saw < 300 hp before the Surge!

Priessa

wrote on 2020-01-28 06:10:09

Yay this finally worked! It took a few tries but it was the last thing I needed for Draconic Destruction!

AlisonC wrote on 2018-10-08 18:54:54

The Infinite Hatchling has to die on Turn 3; if not just give up.
Yula has to be dropped to 117 health, so save Life Exchange if Snozz only hits her one time and Breath instead.
It really really helps if you can get a critical hit.
I didn't succeed before all these things happened. Perservere!

Leannis

wrote on 2020-01-04 02:06:45

Ninth try, and this worked. My infinite hatchling didn't die, but the Yu'la @ 117 is a must going into the last pet.

Gor#1242

wrote on 2020-01-07 15:20:04

I think if Yula doesn't get dropped to 117 health, you should just give up and try again, because if you breath instead the boss will heal before you surge of power. Thanks for the tips though, these helped me know when to just quit to save time.
Got snozz to 44 hp once without any crits, then managed to kill it a few tries later with a crit. Think you need very good rng on the claw damage or one crit for this to work.

Brock#1357

Just did this with 3 Saurolisk Hatchlings (BfA vendor pets)

Just used Rend, Burrow and Feign Death, but I am sure someone skilled could find a use for Rampage on one of them.

Feign Death always goes first, like Deflection so you can avoid the Void Gates. Rend and burrow work well together as you can cast rend and then burrow and the speed buff falls off. Then you can be undergound for a flurry and a void gate.

Took quite a few tries, but the pets were easy to get. Had him to 1 hp once, and 200 ish quite a few times. Some of the fights went 35 rounds, so it's not easy to give a real strat.

asd wrote on 2018-12-03 22:48:16

Unk wrote on 2018-10-30 15:02:02

RameyMJ wrote on 2018-10-27 18:19:59

Nether Faerie Dragon (Slicing Wind, Life Exchange, Cyclone)
Nightmare Whelpling (Tail Sweep, Call Darkness, Nightmare)
Twillight Clutch-Sister (Tail Sweep, Prismatic Barrier, Twilight Metorite) - 289 power/273 speed

Start with an Nether Faerie Dragon
1) Pass (on Nether Faerie Dragon)
Forfeit but do NOT bandage

Nether Faerie Dragon - (injured to start with) - pass
Nightmare Whelpling - Swap to Twillight Clutch-Sister
Twillight Clutch-Sister - Prismatic Barrier
Swap to Nether Faerie Dragon
Nether Faerie Dragon - Cyclone
Nether Faerie Dragon - Life Exchange
Nether Faerie Dragon - Pass
Nightmare Whelpling - Call Darkness
Nightmare Whelpling - Nightmare (woot - we gimped Snozz's healing 100%!!)
Nightmare Whelpling - Tail Sweep (if applicable)
Twillight Clutch-Sister - Tail Sweep
Twillight Clutch-Sister - Twilight Metorite

Hylandu wrote on 2017-09-24 22:41:02

82 times so far, and this has not worked. It required the sister to take only 2 hits twice which considering for Snozz that's about a 10% chance by my current numbers. So 5% chance to have him not 3 hit twice, and then add in crits/misses etc. Your math in this thread is more off then Trump on politics.

Henry Chan wrote on 2017-09-24 23:48:08

Just for kicks, I tried my strat again ... worked first try.
Are you sure you are using a Twillight Clutch-Sister of breed 289 power/273 speed (which is 1465hp)?

Maevrin wrote on 2017-09-25 12:45:19

Awesome strat that worked first time and saved my sanity after numerous fails with the original strat! Henry, you are a bright shiny star .... many thanks :D

Nagini wrote on 2017-09-26 05:08:55

The twilight sister can be hit 5x max, so once 3x, and once twice. It took me three turns for this to happen, but the odds are definetly still better then other strats. I actually won on a turn where tail swip did minimum damage, so he survived meteorite with 13hp. I thought i was a goner, but then he missed his swap in the darkness o_o' intense fight.

Destinee wrote on 2017-09-26 07:48:48

it might be luck.
but this actually worked for me first time trying :>
thanks alot!!

MouseD wrote on 2017-09-26 09:01:56

Thank you Thank you Henry Chan....took me 3 tries...I have the proper sister ...but yes finally beat the snot out of snozz....

Henry Chan wrote on 2017-09-26 11:51:41

@Nagini, you are right, the Twilight Sister can only survive 5 flanks over 2 rounds ... possible permutations of flanks over 2 rounds: [2,2] [2,3] [3,2] [3,3] ... so the that checkpoint failure is [3,3]. Re: 13hp left, I think your Cyclone in the background missed snozz all 5 times ... you need only 1 to hit for this strat to work.

eightball wrote on 2017-09-27 02:54:01

Chrisski wrote on 2017-09-30 05:22:49

It took 3x w/ this strat - w/ a 1400 Twilight Sister. Ironically, the one I won was w/ the sister being crit 2x but 3x his abilities only hit 2x vs 3x so I got quite lucky.

Swapped Yu'la out for the higher HP Sprite Darter Hatchling (1, 2, X). Since Breath wasn't OP against Critters, Slicing Wind is actually stronger because it can hit up to 3 times. During the Breath, LE, Breath phase, just option in Slicing Wind and you'll guarantee that Surge of Power will destroy Snozz like it should.

took a few tries but since these were the only dragons i had from the suggested ones, i had to make do.

some quick notes, infinite hatchling HAS to die on his turn (75%). and Slicing wind has to hit at least 5/6 times (under 50%) or this fails. i got a bit unlucky with rng, but it will defo take a few attempts. but it DOES work.

if you don't have Yu'la, Broodling of Yu'lon, you can replace it with Nether Faerie Dragon (2/2/1) and use Moonfire on turn 8 and Arcane Blast on turn 10..

Saiko wrote on 2017-12-30 22:18:35

The strat works but there is a LOT of rng goodness that has to happen. I don't even know how many fights I tried but if you don't get any crits and if Yu'la doesn't get down to 117 so the Life Exchange is most effective, then you're gonna lose. BUT...it eventually worked! Thank you!

this strategy is so dependent on RNG it crazy. This will work. the strat as written. just keep trying. all that really matters is that Snozz is below 720 when Emm comes out the last time for surge of power. Do not swap steps 2 and 3 like some are suggesting or you run the possibility of not having Temporal Anomaly up - and that is key for the Surge of power at the end.

Weird swaps can happen if the infinite hatchling lives through its first round - just throw a breath in there - it will die and proceed as normal.

Yu'la (Breath, Celestial Blessing, Life Exchange)
Nightmare Whelpling (Tail Sweep, Call Darkness, Nightmare) - 289 power/273 speed
Twillight Clutch-Sister (Tail Sweep, Prismatic Barrier, Twilight Metorite)

Start with an INJURED Yu-la
1) Pass (on Yu-la)
Restart

Yu'la - (staring with about 957hp) - pass
Nightmare Whelpling - Swap to Twillight Clutch-Sister
Twillight Clutch-Sister - Prismatic Barrier
Swap to Yu'la
Yu'la - Celestial Blessing
Yu'la - Life Exhange
Yu'la - Pass

Best strat so far. Thanks.

Hannah wrote on 2017-09-10 18:26:51

I'm continuously failing this strat. I'm doing everything exactly as posted here, but Nightmare Whelp NEVER gets that third hit, the Tail Sweep, because Void Gate comes out. I think that Tail Sweep is neccessary. My Clutch Sister comes in uses the two attacks you suggest and boss is left with about 100-ish hp left, healing debuff gone and heal 1 turn away. I'm confused.....? Am I just legit retarded? Any response would be great.

Henry Chan wrote on 2017-09-10 19:12:12

Regarding : 100-ish hp left
Previously I wrote:
> Twillight Clutch-Sister - Twilight Metorite
> Twillight Clutch-Sister - Tail Sweep
Perhaps it should be in the order of:
Twilight Clutch-Sister - Tail Sweep
Twilight Clutch-Sister - Twilight Meteorite
as the Dragon Trait of +50% additional dmg on next attack will trigger

Then again, its a situational guess with a bit of randomness and you might not get the second attack off

Matt wrote on 2017-09-15 11:20:43

Took me 10 tries but this one finally worked. I ended up needing Yu'la at the very end to hit with Breath and drop Snozz's last 3 hp. Still a ton of RNG but cleaner/easier to obtain pets than the other strats imo. You can't miss due to Darkness or the whole thing is out. Clutch-Sister can only be hit 5 times (no crits) or you won't get the 2nd move off (recommend Tail Sweep then Meteorite as Henry updated). If you don't crit somewhere, Yu'la needs at least 561 hp at the end and only two hits from flank with no crit.

Thanks Henry!

Anonymous wrote on 2017-09-18 13:02:59

It is indeed highly dependent on the number of hits on Twilight sister. Both flanks can only hit twice to sister with no crit, plus all you moves hit during darkness. Approximately 10% success chance

Henry Chan wrote on 2017-09-18 14:38:56

Thx for the comment ... re: approximately 10% success rate - is that a good thing for this boss (taking into consideration of other strats)? ;)
Re: crits and darkness, it can work either way (i.e your favor or the boss), so for now, let's not take this into consideration.
> Both flanks can only hit twice to sister
Correct, so a total of 4 hits in 2 turns
There are 9 (3^2) permutations of flanks over 2 turns,
[1,1][1,2][1,3]
[2,1][2,2[2,3]
[3,1][3,2][3,3]
Of those 9 permutations, the Twillight sister can survive on 6 of them ( ... giving a 66%)
I don't have much details on Yu'la as the last pet per Mat's response, but let's say its another 66%.
66% * 66% = 44% overall.
A little higher than 10% ;). Again this is taking into consideration that crits and darkness aren't taken into consideration as it can work both ways (although I have to admit that crits probably favor bosses more as they usually have first attack).

I must be missing something on this strat. First I assume you mean Sprite Darter Hatchling. Second, The order of the SDH's moves makes no sense to me. If you die restart? Die where, there were no instances in which my SDH was still alive to swap back in after the NW.

Henry Chan wrote on 2017-09-11 20:16:43

Should be:
Sprite Darter Hatchling - Pass

Sprite Darter Hatchling - Life Exchange (part that I was missing)
Sprite Darter Hatchling - Pass
Nightmare Whelpling - Call Darkness

FYI, my other strat with
Nether Faerie Dragon (Slicing Wind, Life Exchange, Cyclone)
Nightmare Whelpling (Tail Sweep, Call Darkness, Nightmare)

has a higher chance of succeeding

@ Henry Chan 09/12/2017

This fight is cancer but your strat did work after many attempts, I did however change up something very slightly, when the nightmare whelp came in a 2nd time (the first time you do Call Darkness & Nightmare combo) I swiched them, NIghtmare first and then Call Darkness.

The Problem I kept running into was at the end, Snozz's healing debuff would fall off right as he used his heal and i would be short on dmg by around 100 ish or so, swiching the order doing nightmare first, and than Call darkness yelded the same dmg and made the debuff last just long enough to reduce his last heal before death.

Could have just been RNG luck but first time I tried it, it worked.

Nether Faerie Dragon S/S x,2,x
Nightmare Whelpling P/H 2,1,1
Azure Whelpling P/P 1,x,1

Henry Chan wrote on 2017-09-13 23:01:29

First off - good job! I'm glad something helped you
The reason I used:
Nightmare Whelpling - Call Darkness
Nightmare Whelpling - Nightmare
was because the Dragon trait *might* get triggered.
Really happy that something I wrote helped you, but I'm down-voting this strat I wrote in favor of my other strat:

Nether Faerie Dragon (Slicing Wind, Life Exchange, Cyclone)
Nightmare Whelpling (Tail Sweep, Call Darkness, Nightmare)
Twillight Clutch-Sister (Tail Sweep, Prismatic Barrier, Twilight Metorite) - 289 power/273 speed

also posted in this page. Thank-you very much for trying my strat and best of luck in your other pet battles.

After many tries of all the strats listed, I eventually won with alt 1.
Your Yula *must* go down to 117hp before the Life Exchange.
Snozz will go to 407hp.
Emmigosa *must* get a crit on the Surge of Power. (it hits for 402 otherwise)
Every strat listed requires that Snozz does not crit and that you do. A lot of luck needed.
I would say that these are more prayers than strategies.

Henry Chan wrote on 2017-09-18 21:06:55

Not every strategy ... there are at least 2 strats listed here that don't require you to get a crit

a) but they require you to never be crit upon
This isn't specific to this boss, but to all bosses / battles
b) or 3 hit

Hylandu wrote on 2017-09-25 15:16:51

3 hit aka 3 flanks

Henry Chan wrote on 2017-09-25 16:56:24

So you actually meant to write 5 flanks over 2 rounds right?
3 flanks (280 dmg) == 840dmg
5 flanks (over 2 rounds) == 1400hp (in which case a pet/start like/with Twillight Clutch-Sister can survive as it has 1465hp on a certain breed)

adezero wrote on 2017-09-18 21:54:59

I only had 49hp left but it worked unlike the many tries of the other strats listed before TW came up so I could buy the required pet. I tried the Nether Fairie strat and it just never worked for me over the course of the last week trying every pet I had on hand.

Loncis wrote on 2017-09-24 21:37:05

I used Alt1 and it worked, but the rng is terrible. All the Mac pets are too random. In the end I won thanks to a lucky crit from surge of power, but that's just praying to RNJesus.

Anonymous wrote on 2017-09-21 07:50:29

I tried flipping steps 2 and 3, as suggested elsewhere and kept running out of steam. So I went back and did it precisely as the op (alt 1) posted it. Got it first try. Definitely be prepared to get irritated, and go ahead and make the effort to get the infinite hatch.

Quintette wrote on 2017-09-21 06:39:28

I finally got the Infinite Hatchling and levelled it today to (re)start on Snozz with the dragons. Much to my surprise, I got him down the first time with the above strategy. He triple-hit me once and I thought that was going to be my undoing, but I struggled on. Used Life Exchange on Yu'la at 117HP but that did not bring Snozz down to 407 HP. Rather somewhere over 700. Yu'la's last Breath got him to 372 HP and Emmigosa's Surge of Power neatly finished him off, leaving her with 280 HP.

Nether Faerie Dragon (Slicing Wind, Life Exchange, Cyclone)

Forfeit but do NOT bandage

Nether Faerie Dragon - (injured to start with) - pass
Nightmare Whelpling - Swap to Twillight Clutch-Sister

I assume you mean the third pet has 289 power and 273 speed, because Nightmare Whelpling only comes in one breed and not with those stats.

That said, this worked where none of the others did for me, so I suppose I have to recommend it on that alone. Well found.

Hannah wrote on 2017-09-10 18:29:35

Why is no one mentioning not ever being able to get third hit (Tail Sweep), on the Nightmare Whelpling? You literally can't get a third hit off since Void Gate is off CD. Did no one need that third hit? I'm ending fight with boss still at ~200 hp...? Is a crit required somewhere?

Hannah wrote on 2017-09-10 18:42:03

Finally got this strat to work, as opposed to Alt A listed above, or the one with Yu'la. The thing is, the Cyclone damage is needed. Also, your Nightmare Whelpling and Clutch Sister can't get hit three times or they won't be able to get off both attacks. With that being said, I've gne through 200+ bandages on this turd, and using this strat got me the win in 3 tries.

Henry Chan wrote on 2017-09-10 19:18:27

My bad on not explaining ... there is a chance is that Snozz might miss you due to Darkness ... if you decide to "Pass" instead of Tail Sweep, then ... your chances of winning will be even smaller.

Worked well - Nightmare Whelpling, like my post very early on, proves that an additional healing debuff, such as Nightmare or Darkflame will effectively nullify Snozz's healing. Unfortunately, finding a spot for Infinite Whelpling would be too difficult, and NW has both Call Darkness and -50% healing ability in one. I used the SS breed of Nether Faerie Dragon, although the PP might have done better, with a more powerful Cyclone. Unable to get NW to Tail Sweep, but no matter. Lucky enough to have a back up in case TC-S died, who did not and finally success!

I didn't have a Yu'la (too lazy) but I do have an Infinite Whelpling. On the off chance, you're in the same boat: sub an S/S Nether Faerie Dragon (221). Turns 8-10 become: Arcane Blast, Life Exchange, Moonfire.

Still very RNG, but it got there.

Truweil wrote on 2017-09-10 02:13:05

Quenais wrote on 2017-09-10 00:28:28

So after trying and failing what felt like 10 times (but was probably more like 5 or 7...) I can safely say that there are some check points to keep in mind:

-Emmigosa MUST have more than 280 health, or the Infinite Hatchling MUST be dead by the time she gets switched out. Otherwise, the hatchling comes back in and Snozz heals.
-Snozz needs to have 402 health OR LESS when Emmigosa comes back in. Not sure what the health total is at various points, but it's probably possible to figure out.

If you have some other check points to add, feel free to list them. These are just the ones I figured out while snarling at Snozz and RNG.

Terry wrote on 2017-09-08 01:55:42

Stupidly RNG, but then, what of these isn't.

Darkness build. Nightmare Whelpling 2 1 1, Albino Chimeraling 2 2 1, Dark Whelpling 2 2 1.

If he lands three hits in the first two attacks, it's over.

Keep Darkness up at all times. Use Lift-Off to avoid his swap attack.

When you can get Nightmare up on him, it reduces his healing to 0 for the duration.

With a miss or two on his part, it's possible. Annoying, but possible. Worked 2/10 attempts for me, which is sadly better than anything else I attempted.

Tsoonami wrote on 2017-09-08 02:14:30

Always nice to see an alternative strategy. This, in fact, is the last fight I need to accomplish for the meta achievement and pet. (Fitting that Snozz is proving to be the hurdle, given that the pet reward is, well, Snozz!). That said, this Darkness build relies on having the Nightmare Whelpling from EN. I saw it drop once in all the weeks my guild was raiding, and of course it went to someone else. The single Nightmare Whelpling I spottedon the AH was going for a discounted 400,000g. Guess I'll either wait for the infinite hatchling--freebie!--or hover anxiously awaiting another alternative strategy to be posted here. I can't imagine that the developers only intended for 1 or 2 strategies to work on any of these legendary pet NPCs.

AeroKargath wrote on 2017-09-08 03:45:50

I actually used something similar. My first pet didn't really matter but I went with Soul of Aspects (Claw/Deflection). The big winner was Lil' Deathwing. T2-Cata, T3-CoDarkness, T4-Cata (he missed swap). From there I bombed him with the biggest dmg available until he killed deathwing. He had 275 or so health when I brought in my Lanticore to clean up.

My plan was to get Lanticore to trip snap on T5 and have a dragonkin buffed cataclysm on T6. Then my final pet would come in and clean up whatever minimal mess was left. I had gotten really close (even without him missing) but hadn't found the right "third pet".

I realize deathwing isn't an obtainable but thought I'd throw it out as something that might work. Got the pet tonight.

It does work. You pass, then cast call darkness, then do lift off, then do tail sweep (sometimes twice if he misses). If he triple hits you twice (or once and you also miss) you have to start over. But it's impossible to write out the exact sequence after the beginning because it depends on if he misses or not. As noted keep call darkness up. Took me about 5 tries.

Navet wrote on 2017-09-08 11:16:47

Sadly I don't have the Infinite Hatchling yet either...and Snozz is bugged, he heals way too much...he should heal for about 470 not 564, if that was fixed I would've killed him already...

AeroKargath wrote on 2017-09-08 20:03:38

Holomar built that off my strat (mentioned below) using DW and Lanticore. It got downvoted to hell (just like his original post) because it (like many of the harder portions of these achieves) required RNG to go in your favor.

I didn't try with the whelpling but the combo I was working toward was CoDarkness + cataclysm so that when lanticore came in it could trip snap and then cataclysm with the dragonkin buff. I had gotten him really close with one pet left to go (<200 I think) so I tried soul of aspects for the deflection but didn't actually end up getting that far. Aside from the healing, the darkness gave my DW the benefit of a missed swap so he just tore Snozz to pieces all the way down to about 250 health. If you can get him to miss that swap off your 2nd dragon you may be able to use some of the other dragons to finish the job.

Not suggesting that it WILL work with the dark whelp but you may find a way to adjust with that information.

Lasaider-Nazgrel wrote on 2017-09-08 20:38:55

I got it to work using this strategy you linked, it's less RNG. I did sub a nightmare whelpling in the second spot.. Thanks for linking it. Idk why it's downvoted.. Also even though it says "pass" still use an attack, he sometimes misses with the attack that swaps you...

Tormentia-Kul Tiras wrote on 2017-09-09 16:46:25

I used his strat and got it on the 5th try.

Snozz heals again before he dies so this doesn't work

Tsoonami wrote on 2017-09-08 20:50:36

Reporting this modified line-up swiftly to benefit anyone who may still be looking for an option but who does not have Lil Deathwing or the Infinite Hatchling, as was my case. A guildy benevolently gifted me the Nightmare Whelpling from EN which was seemingly central to the (eventual) win. Sadly, this (tradable) pet is not widely or assuredly available either, but I encourage you to ask in guild or in trade to see if anyone will sell/lend/trade the pet to you, perhaps even with the promise to level it up and return. :) Like many of these fights against Snozz, it did not come easy as RNG determines how many times Flank strikes, which, more often than not, proves fatal. But whether with the few builds already posted here, or this one below, just keep at it, and eventually the right combination or luck and strategy will unfold. Here's the team and how the win came about:

"LIFE-DARK" Build
Sprite Darter Hatchling X-2-2
Nightmare Whelpling 2-1-1
Dark Whelpling 2-2-1

Bring in Sprite Darter Hatchling. Pass. Nightmare Whelpling Forced In.
Swap Sprite Darter back in.
Life Exchange (Gain of 800hp). (First possible RNG hiccup: if Flank hits 3 times and kills the Sprite Darter, be prepared to restart).
Sprite Darter forced out by Void Gate; Nightmare Whelpling forced in.
Nightmare.
Call Darkness. (Second possible RNG hiccup: if Flank hits 3 times x 2 and kills your Nightmare Whelpling, be prepared to restart.)

NOTE: Now here's where the fight becomes entirely unpredictable due to Darkness. So be prepared to follow common sense from here forward as RNG steers the fight. In my case, Snozz cast Void Gate on my Nightmare Whelpling, and it missed. So Nightmare Whelpling got in a Tail Sweep x 2 and benefited from the Dragonkin buff. Once Snozz finished off my Whelpling with Flank, based on where he was in his rotation, I brought back in the Sprite Darter Hatchling to soak Void Gate. The Darter dies.

Dark Whelpling comes in.
Call Darkness.
Lift-Off
Tail sweep.

RNG/Darkness will ultimately determine if Snozz is dead at this point. A few well-timed misses of his will inevitably hand you this much-earned win. Also, given that Darkness is up at all times, avoid hitting "Pass" even if you think your pet is going to be swapped out or killed, as he may in fact miss, and you will be giving up the opportunity to damage Snozz and significantly change the outcome--in your favor. That was, indeed, the case with me and my win.

This Dragonkin family battle was the most difficult and challenging fight I experienced in this series, but the Family Fighter achievement feels so satisfying to finally obtain. Thanks to everyone who is sharing experiences and observations here and elsewhere. It's those insights that lead to feasible strategies across any number of these battles. Good luck all.

Why you write too many text... >.<

Fails immediately if Flank does 3 hits instead of 2, which is a pretty high chance

Shamitz - Azralon wrote on 2017-09-08 18:55:27

... just a lil tip, if Snozz miss keep passing the turns exactly as the guide says. I was trying to do something when he misses, tried 100+ times. AWhen I followed exactly as the guide says I finally beat him with 3 attempts.
Yula PS - 122 / Dark Whelping PS 221 / Azure Whelping PP 121
Also another little change that I made was to find the mais abiliteis over my pets that was closer to a PP breed.
Hope it helps.

Angela wrote on 2017-09-08 13:50:51

change Temporal Anomaly 2 whit Cyclone 3
I succeeded immediately
because Snozz loses speed

runicpower wrote on 2017-09-08 09:37:45

just a few comments here about the strat posted with the yula infinite hatchling and emigosa ... if ur infinite hatchling doesn't die on the 4th round (the swap) u might as well restart ... given he hasn't crit you once either this also allows the strat to work.... if ur infinite hatchling has the same HP during round 9 as your emigosa and/or the pet isn't lower than 400 HP u loose ... there is no other options here this is how it works out ... if it doesn't play EXACT to this than it WILL NOT work out ... another note is that u have to have ur yula VERY LOW during the life exchange round (mine had 97 hp when it went off) if u have more than 100-200 HP u might as well restart .... ive tried this strat MANY times and it DOES WORK but u have to have this EXACT scenario play out or it fails ... call it rng call it tuning call it what u want this works even tho I'm reading many people say it doesn't work (also quick note I swapped the cyclone and temporal anomaly turns when I got it to work it allows for another turn of cyclone to allow the chance for another 100ish damage)

Nikapo wrote on 2017-09-08 04:59:18

Does work, but, I would recommend using Cyclone instead of Early Advantage. The reason for this is, by the time you get Emmigosa in there, after you use Wild Magic, Snozz is full health but there's still one round left on Cyclone. Which has a 35% chance of hitting him. Which is better than 0%, right?

Danvash wrote on 2017-09-07 23:47:03

To anyone who doesn't have the infinite hatchling, you probably don't have to worry. This strategy straight up does not work, and there will probably be a new one posted within a few days. I'm getting the boss down really low with Emmigosa, Chrominius, and Wild Jade Hatchling. If you don't have the infinite hatchling, keep trying with other stuff and let us all know what works if you get it.

Hannah wrote on 2017-09-07 19:00:34

I don't have the Infinite Hatchling and literally cannot find a way to make this work without him. Please halp. open to any ideas at all. Jebidye#1221 message me in game and be my hero!

Fysm wrote on 2017-09-07 21:15:48

I'm sitting here for like 10 hours now. Nothing seems to work. If you don't have the Infinite Hatchling you have to wait 2 weeks till MoP timewalk is live or prey to Blizzard that they actually fix this broken, never tested shit.

Nelaphim wrote on 2017-09-07 21:00:09

This worked! At last! Now... just to take out Shadeflicker... /wrist

vaeevictiss wrote on 2017-09-07 14:52:52

just hit 50 attempts here. F you guys and your RNG lol.

vaeevictiss wrote on 2017-09-07 14:58:52

52 attempts did it! finally got a solid crit with flame breath bringing him to 250ish so swap then surge finished him off.

Stefania wrote on 2017-09-07 16:03:38

i'm attempting from yesterday...this is the last group i need for him....sadly i don't have the 2nd pet...T_T wish there were other suggestions too...
p.s. finished over 300+ bandages....

Nyss wrote on 2017-09-07 19:37:01

Will the discarded experiment work? It reduces the speed by 25% but only for 5 rounds.

hannah wrote on 2017-09-07 19:41:03

im getting ready to try this right now. will let you know.

Stefania wrote on 2017-09-07 13:08:52

Hit up the Caverns of Time Portal in the Pillars room and there's usually about 3-4 at any given time :)

Ziv wrote on 2017-09-07 15:42:42

That's Infinite Whelp, the pet in this strat is Infinite Hatchling 2200 Timewalking badges & only available when Cata TW event is active.

Ziv wrote on 2017-09-07 18:10:16

Sorry, I need to correct myself it's the MoP TW Event & I was informed it will be around Sept. 19th.

Tatahe wrote on 2017-09-07 14:05:07

This worked for me in less than 10 atemps, you need some high rolls and a big life exchange but it's not that bad rng. Btw the pet rewarded for this achiev is a mini Snozz so you will have nightmares everytime you summon him hahahaha

Anonymous wrote on 2017-09-07 14:16:08

Have you figured out Shadeflicker with a family of dragons?

Squish wrote on 2017-09-07 15:31:37

There are a few Dragon strats for Shadeflicker in the comment section for him on Wowhead. The one from purpleblob worked for me first try. Haven't tested the other.

Melandroso wrote on 2017-09-07 14:37:52

I was settling in for a long haul here following this strategy and he keeled over in the second try :)

Rabbia wrote on 2017-09-07 14:10:04

Thanks VERY much for this. I'd been thinking along these lines (I swear) but just couldn't get it together, then as I was turning in I caught this. I was just done in by doing all of it in one hit, also.

In any event', more importantly a hearty well done to Ray. It was all I needed to finish up.

FuxieDK wrote on 2017-09-07 12:08:44

In turn 10, Infinite Hatchling gets forced in, NOT Emmigosa, making it fail...

zxzxxxx wrote on 2017-09-07 12:20:10

yeap u gotta get emmigosa forced entry + Snozz having 402 hp or less - so pray to RNG god

Squish wrote on 2017-09-07 12:24:39

If your infinite hatchling does not die when he gets hit with void gate you need to restart the fight.

zxzxxxx wrote on 2017-09-07 12:27:12

yeap even if u get the proper forced entry it doesnt guarantee a win, srsly shit battle - yeah something is defo broken here

Tatahe wrote on 2017-09-07 13:59:27

What Squish say is not true, it's better if it dies but it can still work if it doesn't it will swap the one with higher HP, if both have same HP (usually 400) then it will fail cause Infinite is in 2nd slot and Emmigosa on 3rd :)

Squish wrote on 2017-09-07 14:04:52

In ALL of my attempts where he lived, he was swapped in instead of Emmigosa.

Ekyo wrote on 2017-09-07 12:52:05

Basically you need Snozz to hit your Yu'la twice with his Flank before you use life exchange, worked for me.

zxzxxxx wrote on 2017-09-07 12:53:43

i was gonna type u were right BUT by some miracle yu'la getting hit once -> surge worked without crit

Anonymous wrote on 2017-09-07 12:57:46

Must've critted prior in that fight then.

vaeevictiss wrote on 2017-09-07 13:11:19

had this happen and he still ended with 117 hp with my pets dead. Only way i can see this happening is a 2 hit before exchange AND a crit with claws after his heal.

Anonymous wrote on 2017-09-07 13:37:48

Emmigosa claw deals 246 to 369 damage so you might have gotten low hit on both claws.

Tatahe wrote on 2017-09-07 13:53:24

Claw and Breath has rolls, you need to roll high, crit is not the only option :) Your 2nd Claw should do over 320 damage and your last breath around 280 for this to work, and flank needs to double hit your Yu-la before life exchange. If you roll higher than what I said you may still do it without double flank hit and withiout a surge lucky crit :)

achja wrote on 2017-09-07 12:38:30

srsyl...... 20+ tries and not even close to 402 hp before surge of power....

Anonymous wrote on 2017-09-07 13:03:02

If he gets of a single 3 hit combo you're done

vaeevictiss wrote on 2017-09-07 13:03:59

yea, i was hoping this wasnt just me. And these three pets only have a single breed. This strat will only happen with at least 2 crits.

Squish wrote on 2017-09-07 13:24:16

I got zero crits and it still worked after 8 tries. Your Yu'la needs to be hit 3 times with Flank so she is down to 140ish HP for Life Exchange. Also, higher hits from Emmigosa's claws are ideal.

Khaliah wrote on 2017-09-07 13:06:26

It worked on the first try but I had breath instead of claw on Emmigosa by mistake, and it worked anyway.

3ceph0los wrote on 2017-09-07 11:13:46

TY! - but, can it work with Discarded Experiment with that speed debuff, instead of Infinite Hatchling?

Squish wrote on 2017-09-07 12:33:55

No, that debuff only lasts 5 rounds and will fall off before Emmigosa can come back in.

3ceph0los wrote on 2017-09-07 13:04:01

Guess I will have to wait 3 months to use this strat - aka Pandaria timewalking

Anonymous wrote on 2017-09-07 11:35:45

what a joke so anyone that dont have a pet that only is optainable doing timewalking wont beable to kill this one

Shivelyn wrote on 2017-09-07 12:30:10

It's not hard to obtain it and I think it's fair as long as it's an obtainable pet. One of the strats have a blizzcon murloc I think in the strat and that's a bit impossible to get now...

Anonymous wrote on 2017-09-07 12:44:16

This one is straight up broken and was never tested once from Blizzard

zxzxxxx wrote on 2017-09-07 12:12:01

Turn 10 its not 100% u will get emmigosa forced entry, it will depend on pet hp

raesh wrote on 2017-09-07 11:19:37

turn 11 surge of power deals 402 damage, so make sure snozz is at or below 402 HP.
bit of RNG for the claw damage range (or crits), but im glad something finally worked

Kelly wrote on 2017-09-07 11:04:37

Took a few tries but this totally worked. Thank you so much!
