Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!

I added a 25 Foulfeather (*,2,1) instead of the "any pet"... didnt even have to modify the tdscript for it to win, as foulfeather has both black claw and flock, same as ikky. now RNG doesnt matter at all

still works in SL prepatch , just use a direbeak hatchling as 3rd pet and spam Falcosaur swarm . ezz win .

During the [! Complete 5 World Quests] quest chain for [Snowfeather Hatchling] I found that snowfeather can do alot of damage to Blottis

Evil wrote on 2017-08-04 21:03:50

Ikky + one of these: Sharptalon Hatchling / Bloodgazer Hatchling / Direbeak Hatchling / Snowfeather Hatchling

Black Claw -> Flock (now your Ikky should be dead)

Swap to one of Hatchlings -> Predatory Strike

Done.

Used the above Ikky with Snowfeather. Had to do Falcosaur Swarm too. Put a level 1 in the first spot and it increased to level 6 with safari hat. Not a great way to level but a nice start.

Does this fight give decent EXP for leveling pets?

Anonymous wrote on 2017-10-08 00:06:09

My lvl 14 got only 365xp

Mashumaro wrote on 2018-02-14 18:39:30

Yeah, and my level 15 got only 360. So no, not really a good WQ for boosting pets.

TSP wrote on 2018-04-26 11:44:21

Yeah you are right hardly gives anything for EXP. However on triple EXP pet week I tried to level a `15 and got almost 1 1/2 levels out of it. So a little bit worth it when the even is goiing on.

MolsonofAle wrote on 2017-07-28 20:24:56

Curse of Doom then Unholy ascension.
Ikky went down before 2nd flock round.
Thankfully I had a Darkmoon Tonk in 3rd slot. Ion cannon ftw.
This has worked before just bad rng.
Just pays to have a good 3rd pet.

iLLuMNaTi wrote on 2017-07-29 03:54:28

While Curse of Doom seems tempting as a first move, don't do it. Stick with the strategy given.

Fluferrnut wrote on 2017-08-04 11:28:04

I had issues with the strategy as given - using curse of doom worked like a charm!

Anonymous wrote on 2017-08-04 18:54:14

I agree with Illumnati. Follow the strat above.

MolsonofAle wrote on 2017-08-04 21:04:21

Worked as listed today. Ikky and Blottis died together. Wanted to add that before I had the Val'kyr I used a Northern Hawk owl instead with call darkness and nocturnal strike. Then Ikky. That worked for me for those that don't have the Val'kyr. Might be another option.
Thanks for the input all :-)
Love this site. :-)

DavidG wrote on 2018-03-21 04:05:31

If you don't have an Unborn Val'kyr, you can replace that with the Ghostly Skull sold by Darahir in the Old Dalaran sewers. It's one of the few, if not the only other pet that has Unholy Ascension.

Riàs wrote on 2017-09-19 19:02:37

I suggest you have a leveling pet as your 3rd pet only because sometimes, sometimes ikky dies as Blottis is dying and it gets all the xp.

Hummouse wrote on 2017-09-24 14:24:41

My newly acquired Graves thanks you.

Shanasty wrote on 2017-10-07 15:23:37

Probably should mention it to not be a level 1 lvling pet. Mine died and then Blottis died.

Greekgoddess wrote on 2017-04-27 04:26:27

I actually beat him multiple times with Zandalari Anklerender (2/x/2) and Ikky (1/1/1) . Black Claw then Hunting Party and he goes pretty low.. then Ikky comes in and finishes him off with Black Claw and Flock

J wrote on 2017-09-25 08:34:50

Thanks, managed this with a level 11 pet in slot one. Wasn't great exp though. Still nice to have the option.

Tyrsa wrote on 2017-04-27 15:52:00

For me the Valk/Ikky combo kept leaving Blottis alive.
I also always seem to have a pet that's level 24 - solution is to throw that high level pet that doesn't need much xp to finish leveling in here as the third pet. It can finish Blottis (who was still affected by Black Claw) and benefit from the small xp gain, even if it's over the course of 2-3 alts.

Aelfraed wrote on 2017-05-10 09:47:14

Level Pet Strategy:
Pets:
Gilnean Raven 2 2 1
Ikky 2 1 1
Level Pet

Gilnean Raven In
Turn 1: Call Darkness
Turn 2: Nocturnal Strike
Turn 3: Swift Strike,
Gilnean Raven Dies.
Bring in Ikky
Turn 4: Black Claw
Turns 5-7: Flock
Ikky dies.
Blottis dies.

NightB wrote on 2017-04-13 10:59:59

Tried it, (I used a SS Gilnean Raven), and Ikky killed Blottis on first turn of Flock. :p

OXBDB wrote on 2017-04-13 21:40:35

Might be the breed, because the 4th alpha strike never goes off, which may be the health difference that caused it. I got mine after the change, so my Gilnean is B/B. So, to give the full strat (because I redid it today and realized I left out information on the Gilnean raven death.) This strat has now worked for me twice and it gives a good amount of XP.

Pets: B/B Gilnean Raven, Ikky, Level Pet

Gilnean Raven In
Turn 1: Call Darkness
Turn 2: Nocturnal Strike
Turn 3: Alpha Strike
Turn 4: Alpha Strike. Gilnean Raven Dies before strike goes off. If using S/S, probably pass here, so Raven dies.
Bring in Ikky
Turn 5: Black Claw
Turns 6-8: Flock
Ikky dies.
Blottis dies.

Zai wrote on 2017-05-10 00:02:47

Successfully followed this with S/S Gilnean Raven and P/S Ikky. This was only worth 385 xp with a safari hat on.

Miyari wrote on 2017-04-14 02:14:19

I got lucky and didn't even need to use a 281 speed, just used a P/B Direhorn Runt. I had used Unholy Ascension first turn just in case but the Runt just barely survived.

Balz wrote on 2017-04-01 05:45:29

Had to add Curse of Doom for first move from Unborn in order for this to work with Zandalari Anklerender. Blottis killed off my raptor and curse finished Blottis, leaving only my lowbie pet alive.

wow tricky fight for the Sharptalon WQ with 2 magic pets. Finally defeated with Jade Owl 111 (didn't actually do much dmg b4 dying), brought out Ethereal Soul Trader using 212, this got him down enough to finally finish him off with the falco using 122 just warning squawk and Falco swarm

TffnyNelson wrote on 2016-11-29 22:20:58

You dont have to actually use the falcasaur hatchlings in your line up to get credit for their "team up" quests, just have them summoned in the world.

Switched out Ikky for Direbeak Hatchling with Falcosaur Swarm, Ironskin and Predatory Strike.

So that works basically the same, used iron skin and just spamed Falcosaur Swarm til he was in the 800 - 900hp range for the double damage rang of Predatory Strike.
