At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!

The trick with this one is that the Expunge that Netherspawn uses has quite a range of possible damage, and hitting on the low end means it dies before the sunflower. I used Netherspawn, Oily Slimeling, and a Lantern, and it went fine.

Pidget wrote on 2018-06-23 22:39:51

This fight can almost be soloed by Syd the Squid (112), any mid lvl magic pet for xp, Eldritch Manafiend (121) or any pet with Surge of Power
Use Water Jet
Use Cleansing Rain
Use Bubble
Use Water Jet til Sunny is dead

Rinse and repeat for Roots and Beaky
bring in leveling Pet and the switch right to Manafiend
by this time Beaky should be close to dead, just use Surge of Power

JacktheKnife wrote on 2017-10-08 16:29:19

If you have Syd the squid it is an easy solo. (2,1,2)
Tidal Wave
Cleansing Rain (change weather)
Bubble
Tidal Wave, etc

Just keep tidal waving and change weather and bubble when possible - easy. Kills all backline pets and then him.

ziboo

wrote on 2017-12-09 18:56:17

That was OMG easy. 16 rounds of mostly Tidal Wave, but it worked. Thanks!

Penance wrote on 2018-02-13 21:49:40

+1 Easy solo win. Didn't need either of my backup pets.

I chose this solution because I didn't have the necessary pets leveled for either of the other two suggested strategies. It was somewhat of a long fight (but not too bad) but considering that the two back-line pets went down without even having a chance to attack makes up for it. There's not much risk involved in this strategy and it gets the job done.

wrote on 2018-04-24 17:54:51

Lesser Voidcaller (2,1,2) works great for this as well. Drain Power on cooldown, keep Siphon Life up, and use Nether Blast for damage. He easily took out the first pet and a significant chunk of the second pet for me. Cleanup is easy after that.

Shockawocka wrote on 2018-04-10 11:33:32

Didn't have a Lantern; used Netherspawn, and Shadow (from the in game shop). Didn't use the third pet.

Emile wrote on 2017-05-10 07:54:25

I've tried this a couple of times, and each time, it was my Netherspawn that died on turn 6, not Sunny. Things went better when I did a Nether Blast on turn 5 (instead of a Creeping Ooze).

Emelie wrote on 2017-08-05 12:46:35

I had the same luck using Nether Blast on turn 5 as well, which ended up killing Sunny rather than the Creeping Ooze. Thanks for that! :)

A2 wrote on 2017-08-24 13:33:02

I confirm this happen with H/S breed and one or two more Nether Blast are better than a second Creeping Ooze to keep Netherspawn alive.

skarpethinn wrote on 2017-10-09 09:53:52

Same issue here - the big blast the sunflower does takes too much life off your Netherspawn for it to last the entire fight. Every fight did with this line-up went the same way - my Netherspawn dies to the sunflower, & my lantern dies to Roots. Then it's game over.

kwiltre wrote on 2017-02-03 19:03:37

Managed quite well with Disgusting Oozeling 1,2,1, Oily Slimeling 1,2,1, and Nordrassil Wisp 2,1,2 to finish. Keep spamming the creeping ooze as much as possible through the first two pets then finish with flash and light against Beaky.

Daineycakes wrote on 2017-08-24 12:48:50

This is a super-strong option, beat it comfortably first go! :)

MolsonofAle wrote on 2017-08-12 13:28:45

Used Netherspawn as above.
Didn't have a lantern had a magic lamp 1,2,1. Beam for last hit on Roots (64 hp left)
Soul ward when Beaky came out to block his dive. Then Beam till Beaky was dead.
Never got to 3rd pet.
Thanks Everyone for all the info :-)

Daisy wrote on 2017-08-01 22:48:05

Brightpaw makes a good third pet.

Othros wrote on 2017-05-11 00:34:23

Arcane Eye (1,2,2) is a strong 3rd pet. Use Drain Power then Mana Surge

Anonymous wrote on 2017-08-01 12:05:53

Thanks!

Virtuse wrote on 2016-12-27 06:21:30

Managed to finish the fight with:
Abyssius (2,1,2)
Eldritch Manafiend (1,2,1)
Mini Mindslayer (2,1,2)
Against Sunny it's pretty self explanatory, keep flamethrower DoT active. Use Meteor Strike on Sunny's solar beam, use crush in between.
Same applies with Roots, my Abyssius died when Roots was at about 30-40% hp. Just brought in the Eldritch Manafiend and used Arcane Storm, then Arcane Blast until Roots died.
On Beaky, I passed (flight), then surge of power. Even if surge of power misses it does not matter, if so Eldritch Manafiend should die soon.
Mini Mindslayer is just to mop up, used Amplify Magic and then Mana Surge. Mini Mindslayer still had 981/1400 HP so not even close.

Fluffyrock wrote on 2017-01-10 09:12:45

Worked great even with a lvl23 Eldritch Manafiend. Ty!

Aelfraed wrote on 2017-05-10 21:31:22

Fabulous. I didn't have mindslayer so used an arcane eye. I was hit by second solar beam but still only needed 2 hits from eye, so I don't think it matters too much what third pet is. Probably wont need it if you don't forget those solar beams.

Lemara wrote on 2016-12-03 00:03:53

I had to get creative not having lvled any of the suggested. Went with Syd the Squid 2,1,1, Viscidus Globule 1,2,1, and Enchanted Broom 2,1,2 . Syd solo'd the whole thing using Whirlepool and Bubble on CD and Spamming Tidal wave. I had the back line pets dead before I even finished Sunny. : P Hope this helps : )

Ntina wrote on 2016-12-03 06:32:03

yes Syd did the job. killed all of them. never had to use the other pets. ty

ZekkDistor wrote on 2016-12-03 12:49:02

Yep, definitely this one. Syd died due to Beaky, but Viscidus Globule cleaned it up nicely. Thanks for the strat!

Brad wrote on 2016-12-16 21:26:12

Nice. Easier than the non FF strat. Never even had to use the 2nd or 3rd pets.

Cohibadad wrote on 2017-01-16 12:46:29

Yup. Syd solo'd it for me too. Never had to bring in Enchanted broom or Elekk.

Anonymous wrote on 2017-05-10 21:16:16

ivara wrote on 2017-02-03 04:05:28

syd the squid for the elementals, voidcaller for flying -- master of magic
(had a level 20 hyjal wisp in the 3rd slot)

Muqaddisa wrote on 2017-01-17 13:29:26

Worked perfectly with Netherspawn H/S and Lunar Lantern. I didn't have to use the 3rd pet.

Tiffany#1468 wrote on 2016-12-16 23:30:39

I had the same issue as some other have noted, hadn't lvled any of the names pets. So I looked at a few of the alternative pet suggestions and went with Nightmare Bell 1,1,2, Legs 2,1,2 and Magic lamp 1,2,2.. Start with bell and do curse of doom, call of darkness and then shadow shock, this will kill Sunny and you will likely be alive to even get a hit in on Roots. When first pet died I brought in Legs and dropped whirlpool and did pump. That dropped Roots easy, so then when Beaky comes in the perk of Legs is that you can then use surge of power with is strong on flying pets. So legs has the bonus of strong on elemental attacks as well as the one strong on flying, so it can pretty much take out 2 pets on its own. If this didn't finish off Roots though just have a 3rd magic clean up pet. I used a Magic lamp, but you could really use anything, as I only have ever had to use it for one hit and I was done.

Phux wrote on 2016-12-16 17:33:40

Nightmare Bell 1,1,2
Syd the Squid 1,1,1
Any magic ability pet to clean up

Nightmare bell: Curse of Doom, Call Darkness, Shadow shock till Curse of Doom is up (use it again this time on Roots, Sunny is already dead in the background), Shadow Shock till stunned, pass, die. Syd the Squid: Water Jet, Water Jet (Roots dies), Bubble, Whirlpool, Water Jet until Syd dies. Any magic pet with magic attacks should take out the remaining health, I used Mini Mind Slayer with Mana Surge. Didn't test this but twice.

Alarys wrote on 2016-12-02 23:12:40

My Netherspawn, Lesser Voidcaller, and Disgusting Oozeling all got wrecked by Sunny before they could take it out. I swapped over to Syd the Squid (1,1,1), Whirlpool, Water Jet, Bubble, then Water Jet til dead. Syd also stomped Roots (Whirlpool, Water Jet til dead), andgot squashed by Beaky (not before taking Beaky down to 481 HP though :D). My backup (Enchanted Lantern 1,2,2, and an unused Untethered Wyrmling 1,1,2) smoked Beaky.

Argent wrote on 2016-12-02 18:47:27

I haven't leveled my lanterns yet, but I found that a Lesser Voidwalker (with pretty much any abilities, though I used 211) and a Shimmering Wyrmling (112) are both very effective.

Theia wrote on 2016-10-23 13:38:56

I don't have a leveled Netherspawn, Spawn of Netherspawn. I used Legs instead (2,2,2). Start Whirpool, Pumpx2, Gravity and Sunny is done. When Roots comes in Whirlpool, Pumpx2, Gravity and Roots is done. Pass when Beaky comes in. If you're lucky you'll hit him with Gravity before Legs dies. Lantern comes. I used the strategy above.

Ectothrix wrote on 2016-10-24 01:52:24

Tried Legs and it works great, also used Viscidus Glob to eat Roots, dotted up Beaky then and Nordrassil Wisp flash light to end it.

Istaro wrote on 2016-12-02 17:40:13

Nice. My Netherspawn is H/S, so I tried Legs + Viscidus Globule as well, and pretty much any third pet should be able to finish it (I used Jade Oozeling, one Ooze Touch was dodged and the second finished Beaky off).

rke wrote on 2016-10-23 15:22:11

Not sure if something has changed, but my Netherspawn was getting absolutely destroyed by Sunny. Any damage done by Nether Blast was more or less being negated by Photosynthesis being buffed by Sunny Weather, and the second Solar Beam would kill Netherspawn with Sunny still having a good 3-400 hp left.

Fortunately I could simply sub in Abyssius (2,2,2), which absolutely destroyed Sunny, and dealt enough damage to Roots for my Enchanted Lantern and Magic Lamp to do the rest.

Szuzsika wrote on 2016-10-23 16:08:12

For me nothing like that happened, my Netherspawn killed both Sunny and Roots, and my lantern just annihilated Beaky

Vish Kal wrote on 2016-10-23 17:19:35

I had trouble with netherspawn being unable to kill sunny as well. I think it might be because mine is H/S, and H/P is also available as a breed for netherspawn. This strategy might be dependent on breed. The lantern was able to finish the rest of the fight, though.

Anonymous wrote on 2016-10-28 16:54:14

Definitely requires an H/P Netherspawn or some good rng. Jade Oozeling did fine for me though.

Akascha wrote on 2016-11-03 04:31:57

My H/S Netherspawn couldn't handle Sunny too, so you definitely need a H/P breed.

Firenze wrote on 2016-11-13 21:55:30

Agree, after multiple attempts H/S Netherspawn dies to Sunny.

Lamplighter wrote on 2016-11-29 23:07:41

My H/P netherspawn got owned by sunny. I think it may be the big damage variance on expunge. Enchanted lantern didn't make it thru Roots either. But Hyjal wisp was able to finish it off.

As with many other magic fights, Hyjal Wisp killed the first two pets easily. After that, any standard magic attacks can finish off Beaky.

Just soloed it with Hyjal Wisp 2/1/1 :P Sunny weather and Wish ability makes it so trivial lol.

Nice find, thank you! I added it as an alternative

I just threw some oozes at this fight.

Used a Disgusting Oozeling and an Oily Slimeling, but most oozes have the same abilities.

Used Acidic Goo, then Corrosion and Ooze touch all other times. Wiped out sunny. First Ooze got a couple hits off on Roots before Dying.
Second Ooze same deal, keep Acidic Goo and Corrosion up and Ooze touch otherwise. Killed roots.
Same for killing Beaky, those two up and ooze touch. Ooze died with Beaky on pretty low health - Any regular magic ability will wipe beaky out. I used my hyjal wise and hit Arcane blast - but Anything should work. :)

Wow, either I got some terrible RNG or this is highly breed dependent. My Disgusting Oozeling didn't even get to kill Sunny.

I used eldritch manafiend (111), arcane eye (222), and lesser voidcaller (221).

I beat this using Hungering Claw (1,2,2), Legs (2,1,2) and P/P Jade Oozeling (1,1,1).
R1: Curse of Doom.
R2: Call Darkness.
Then Tentacle Slap until Sunny died, and it took a big chunk out of Roots with the Tentacle Slap as well. When Hungering Claw died, just Pump-Pump to finish off Roots, then throwing a Whirlpool followed by Surge of Power on Beaky. Whatever poor Beaky have left after that (for me it was 8hp, but I had zero misses) your Jade Oozeling should be able to clean up with no issue.

Had no trouble at all doing this fight with 3 pets, but it's not as much of a given as "If your Lantern miraculously does not manage" suggests =) Final enemy pet still had 890hp when my lantern died.

I got a quick, dirty and pretty well working strat here:

Eldritch Manafiend (211)
Start with Amplify Magic, followed by Arcane Storm. Then go for Arcane Explosion and use Amplify Magic to boost anytime you can. By the time my Eldritch went down, Beaky in the back was already dead and Roots heavily damaged.

Brought in Brightpaw (111)
Prowl - Arcane Storm. Roots should also go down background. If everything does as it should, one last Arcane Blast should kill Sunny by now.

If anything goes south you still have a third pet left, which I didn't need at any time :)

Worked perfectly, thanks.

Didn't have Brightpaw but I used an Arcane Eye with Mana Surge and it finished off the remaining health of both pets.
