Strat by roeevv on Wowhead. I personally haven't tested this one yet.

Medium XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
RNG
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
Level 1+
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

Worked for me. Honestly I think if you are worried just put a high level leveling pet....ie 23-24 leveling pet to finish...Still get the leveling opportunity.

This script is not correct. First issue I noticed is that Hoof needs to repeat a few times.

AramilGaeda

wrote on 2022-12-05 09:56:03

The way the script works, is every time you press [auto] it will read the entire script from top to bottom and do what action is available, based on the conditions. When haunt is performed, that forces your next pet in to battle, so it cannot be performed again, unless the pet with that ability is back on the field. Next, consume magic would be used if haunt is not available to use, but ONLY if enemy #2 is active. If haunt is not able to be used, and enemy #2 is not active (or consume magic if consume magic is on cooldown) then it will use hoof, if that is available to use by whatever is your currently active pet.

Again, it will reread the entire script from top to bottom each round, so how many times you see Hoof listed is not relevant to how often it will be used. Please try it out first! I did write the script in 2020, so if any of the pets or abilities have had changes to health, damage, speed, or cooldown times on abilities, that could affect the success of the script.

One final note is that the strategy above is marked RNG, which means things like a critical strike by you or by the enemy can change whether the script succeeds or fails! (edited)

The script consistently has the ghastly kid not using Consume Magic, using Hoof instead, then swapping out. It's broken.

Here is the corrected script (OG one has a typo in line 5!). Tested it and it worked perfectly:

change(#2) [self(#1).aura(Ice Tomb:623).exists]
standby [self(#1).active]

ability(Haunt:652) [enemy(#2).active]
ability(Consume Magic:1231) [enemy(#1).active]
ability(Hoof:493)
change(#3)

ability(Call Darkness:256)
ability(Dreadful Breath:668)

change(#2) [self(#3).dead]
change(#1) [self(#3).dead & self(#2).dead]

ability(#1)
ability(#2)
ability(#3)
standby

I haven't really played WoW much in about 5 months aside from logging in to check mail, but after seeing your comment and looking back, I see what you mean. I think I intended the condition for Consume magic to be if enemy #2 is (not) active, then it would use it, so the typo is actually a missing "!" !! And that would be why my tracker says my team has a 50% win rate (though it is also only out of 2 battles)! lol Thank you for checking my work!

There are several people who investigate reports of problems with strategies on Xu-Fu's. There are designated Strategy Curators, and other regulars who read comments and are interested in the latest.

In my experience, when people leave a short "It didn't work" note, they usually made a mistake. Maybe they used a pet with the wrong Speed, maybe they didn't do a Pass where it was indicated, sometimes they were even using the team and strat from a completely different battle. :)

Sometimes there genuinely is a problem with the strat. This is where the Curators and others come in, checking the strat for weaknesses, and fixing it or removing it if it can't be fixed.

Since most failure reports with no details are wrong, it's not good to waste people's time investigating them. Instead, help them by providing the information they need.

If the strat failed for you, and you want your comment to be taken seriously:

1. Specify EXACTLY which species and breeds you used.

2. Specify whether you read the strategy from the site and executed it manually, or downloaded and used the tdScript.

3. Specify EXACTLY where the first unexpected thing happened, the first thing that deviated from what the strat predicts. What died too early? What didn't die when it was supposed to? What attack missed?

4. If possible, provide a log. You can see your log in the Pet Battle tab of your chat box. You can pull that out, make it bigger, screenshot it. Better still, you can use the addon Battle Pet Log Keeper from Curseforge, and do /pblk and Save Battle when the battle you want to log is complete.

Almost any strat can fail to a really unlucky string of crits, and some difficult challenge strats like the Family ones may fail more than anyone likes, but the people behind this site do their best to promote well-working strats. Do your part. Provide useful information.

In this case, I tried it, with a H/H Scourged Whelpling, and it worked fine. I did need the final Hoof from the Ghastly Kid as in the instructions, but that was reasonable.

Ofc, every time you bring Darkness to a battle, you're bringing your own carry-on RNG with you, so there is always a chance of a problem with that.

But since you didn't give any details of what went wrong, and since it worked fine when I did it, there is nothing anyone can do about your comment.
