Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

Please give this a like if you used this strat, and comment with any problems or suggestions!

Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
RNG
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.

I've used this several times in the past few weeks (1/17/24). My Rapana Whelk consistently takes out the Living Sludge and at least one backline pet. I've never had a problem finishing the fight if it goes down.

Never works for me, maybe i have too many trash pets leveled up in beast and elementary but it always fails

Amethyst Softshell almost soloed the entire team.

I went with the Silkbead Snail, a Dark Phoenix Hatchling and Corgnelius. Used the script as well, worked 100% without any issues. Thanks.

My Rapana Whelk H/B soloed the entire fight.

Huspomike wrote on 2021-01-29 02:21:33

Absolutely did not work for me. Snail turned out to be useless and easily zapped.

I didn't have any of the Snail pets suggested by this strategy, so I went with Son of Sethe P/S (1,2,2) and it worked wonders.

I ended up facing two mech backups and my shimmershell snail solo'd the first two on its own. Great strat!

Nice! thank you. this worked with a level 23 rusty snail, a 25 fel flame and a 25 argi.

Rusty Snail soloed this time. If the second cockroach hadn't refreshed the count on apocalypse it might have taken too long. i think it has done it every time, but not sure.

My team:
Living Sludge:4EO6:2119HO:ZR7:ZR8:

TD Script: (I used the one from above but added a little bit ^^)
if [self(#1).dead]
change(#2) [enemy.type=Mechanical]
change(#3) [enemy.type=critter]
endif

ability(369) [ round=1 ]
ability(369) [ round=6 ]
ability(369) [ round=11 ]
ability(369) [ round=16 ]
ability(564)
ability(449)
change(#3) [enemy.type = 5]
change(next) [ self.dead ]
ability(#1)

Anon wrote on 2018-12-31 17:06:07

So you know, you can take this line

ability(369) [ round=1 ]
ability(369) [ round=6 ]
ability(369) [ round=11 ]
ability(369) [ round=16 ]

and turn it into this

ability(369) [round~1,6,11,16]

Save you a little time in the future so if you need a skill to be used only on select rounds.

I had some bad luck the first time, so just to be safe go in first and see if it's the mechs or roaches and take two of the elemental or beast depending. I used Fel Flame and Searing Scorchling with Immolate, Burn, Conflagrate to destroy the mechs.

(OP) Bruski#1762

wrote on 2018-12-23 15:25:04

That's a bummer, I thought the snail would be strong enough to weaken them. Did you end up having to redo it?

jtrezzo#1973

wrote on 2019-01-13 22:49:09

Funny, I just did it today and soloed the entire thing with the snail (against a mech and rat)!

I guess the enemy backline varies on this fight? I had a couple undead rats, not a critter or mech. Strat still worked fine, though.

(OP) Bruski#1762

wrote on 2018-12-31 16:56:02

Correct, the enemy backline varies, but the critters and mechs are the hardest (imo). Ele+ beast should be able to handle the undead pretty easily after the snail dies, glad it worked for you!

Cleptor

TD Script line 7

change(#3) [enemy.type = critter]

doesn't work for me. I get an error when I try to save the script. I changed the name of the enemy type to the numerical value of the enemy type as follows:

change(#3) [enemy.type = 5]

The script works fine after this little change.
